Peter Friedrich

Germany

Peter Friedrich, born in Mainz/Germany in 1958, started training dogs in the field Schutzhund/IPO/IGP trials and tracking trials in 1970. He joined the Allgemeiner Deutscher Rottweiler Klub (ADRK) in 1980, worked almost daily as a helper in protection work for over 25 years and is a member of the Rottweiler kennel “vom Sternbogen”. In 1990 he became a working judge and is a breed judge and Körmeister in the ADRK. He was owner and handler of Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Together with his wife Heide, who owns the kennel “Tahuara’s”, he now breeds Sloughis and Greyhounds too. He started his work as a breed judge in 2008 and is currently authorized to judge all breeds in Group 1 and some breeds in Groups 2, 3, 5 and 10 (see also FCI Show Judges Directory). From 2008 to 2011 he was the breeding director of the German Sighthound Breeding and Racing Association (DWZRV). He is the president of the German Kennel Club (VDH) since 2009. He is a member of the FCI Breeding Commission and the FCI Standards Commission. Peter Friedrich has judged in sixty countries on all five continents. The development of dog breeding, progress and problems in the application of breeding strategies and the definition of measures to avoid exaggerated phenotypes are of particular interest to him.
