Finland

Hi!
I was really happy and honoured to get the invitation to judge junior handler qualification competition for the World dog show Final in Helsinki 2025. I started my junior handling career back in the year 2004. I participated in my first competition with my family’s Australian terrier. Since that I competed around Finland almost each week and handling dogs totally took me along.
Most memorable competition for me was the World dog show in Stockholm 2008. I won the World championship with my own Australian terrier under world known American professional handler Peter Green. Terriers have always been close to my heart, but in addition to them I have also shown dogs from every FCI group. I got to know Juha Palosaari in 2007 and got my first Fox terrier from him. The breed totally got me. Later, in 2018 my name was added as a fellow breeder in Juha’s kennel “Starring”.
When handling dogs I appreciate calmness and the right attitude to be in the ring. Junior handing competition does not differ generally from regular breed rings. Handlers should bring the best out of their dog without bringing the handler to the spotlight. Most important is to remember that even as these are competitions, both handler and the dog should have fun in the ring.

See you in Helsinki in august 2025!
