I got my first Finnish Hound when I was 15 years old. I competed with it in trials, but we were not very successful so I bought another Finnish Hound. My first litter was born in 1969 and my prefix Helisalon was approved by the FCI in 1973. I bought my first Beagle in 1970 and I still have this breed at home. Besides these two breeds I have had a couple of Finnish Spitz, Golden Retriever and Lhasa Apso. Sometimes in the 1980’s I saw a Chow Chow at our main Winner-show and I was fascinated by its disparity and originality so we have also this breed at home. Club activities are not my cup of tea, however I am educator judge for Beagles and Chow Chows. I became judge in 1978 and in 2003 I was qualified to judge all breeds.
