Lee Cox

United Kingdom

Born into a “Doggy” Family, Lee has been around pedigree dogs all his life. His Parents starting with Pyrenean Mountain Dogs but moving to Clumber Spaniels when he was born. The family kennel name was Maladetta and they had reasonable success making up a Show Champion and several other CC winners. They did not breed many litters but it was a good basis for Lee to learn all about the world of pedigree dogs as he was fascinated from the very beginning. Both his parents were championship show judges, his father was a member of the UK Kennel Club and his mother judged the breed at Crufts in 2020.
Lee first handled a dog at 4 years old which was a Shetland Sheepdog in Junior Handling classes and won at his very first attempt. He was bitten by the dog showing bug! He bred his first litter at 7 years of age and from this produced his first BOB at Crufts, which was a Sussex Spaniel.
Since then, Lee has bred or owned Champions in 10 breeds across 4 groups. His kennel, Vanitonia, has to date made up 98 UK Champions with many more abroad. These include the Top Dog of All Breeds in the UK in 2010 and the runner up All Breeds in 2012.
Lee started judging at 13 years old, awarded his first set of United Kingdom CC’s at 23 and is currently approved to award CC’s in 49 Breeds across 6 of the groups and is passed to judge the Gundog, Utility and Toy Groups plus BIS at Championship show level in the UK
He has had the fortune of judging Clumbers, Chinese Crested and Toy Poodles at CRUFTS. He has also judged in many countries around the world including all Scandinavian countries of which he has a particular fondness. He is very much looking forward to returning to Finland to judge the World Show 2025.
